Choosing your battery brand and size isn’t always an easy task and there are many factors to consider. This is a main reason our knowledgeable energy consultants prefer to do a site visit and home consult in one, so we can discuss all the options with you and check your existing solar system if you have one.
Let’s go through the main points to consider when choosing your system size:
Power Consumption: How much you and your family usually consume when it comes to power, makes one of the largest impacts on what battery size will be best for your home. We always suggest sitting down and looking through your last six power bills to truly gauge your usage over all four seasons. This is something we like to do at our home consults with you.
Export Power: Understanding how much solar power you are exporting back to the grid will ultimately tell you how much energy will be stored in a battery. This is a good indicator for whether or not you are producing enough electricity to charge a battery.
Physical Space/Room for a Battery: There are a lot of regulations around where a solar battery can and cannot be installed, including clearance guidelines and specificity of the materials surrounding it. At Solaire, we prefer to come out to your home and discuss the options for battery install so we can show you spots a battery could be installed. If you have a specific area you would like a battery installed, let us know and we will do our best to make it work for you.
